We Yone Child Foundation runs three schools within the poorest regions of Freetown, Sierra Leone. The third school is newly constructed, providing additional classrooms for primary education and community space. The school desperately needs paint and sealant to protect the wood from rain and environmental damage, especially given the upcoming rainy season. The goal of $1,500 will pay for the paint, the sealant, and the labor to complete and protect the entire school.
The school provides an opportunity for education that would otherwise be difficult to get. The community is hard to reach, and without the school many children would have to walk significant distances in treacherous terrain to get to a different school. Most schools in Freetown require a weekly payment to attend, prohibiting those who are poorest from gaining an education. WYCF does not enforce a weekly payment for education, allowing those within the community to gain an otherwise out of reach opportunity. With this school already built, maintaining and protecting it become the main priority so that the education of Freetown children in this poor community can continue for decades to come.
Even a small donation will make a big difference in the lives of the hundreds of children who are now able to receive a quality education in a safe and convenient environment. Thank you for your support.
Funds collected are delivered to the beneficiary charity
