It's getting serious! To start with the actual road construction in George Brook we now need to hire the machine to grade the road.
The problem again is, that the community has to come up for all the costs because the government does not feel responsible.
To rent this machine - everyone just calls it Caterpillar - 1000€ are required. Letters have been sent out to all households to contribute with 10€ until the end of this month so they can eventually hire the machine. BUT not everyone has this money. My neighbor is in charge for keeping records and everyone is trying hard to contribute and give as much as possible, but for some it is simply not possible. Many families make their income through selling food and drinks for 10 to 20 cents, so you can imagine what 10 € means in these terms.
They have collected something over 300€ so far. With your help, I'm hoping to meet them in the middle.
Please donate and support this Community!!!

Funds collected are delivered to the beneficiary charity

While doing my Internship with WYCF I stay with a local family in the George Brook Community and climb up the road every day. I got in touch with the people who started to take action even though they don't get any support from the government. Thanks to former donations we could get the tools to break up and remove the big rocks. The upper part of the road, also reaching the school, is now ready for the Caterpillar. I fundraise for this initiative because I can see their efforts every day and I think it's important to support their will to build this road even out of their own pockets.
