The annual COCC St Tropez to Monaco Bike Ride, which supports the Princesse Charlene of Monaco Foundation, is scheduled for Sunday, May 5th this year.

The sobering reality is that drowning is the third leading cause of accidental death globally. Shockingly, it is estimated that around 400,000 individuals die from drowning each year, equating to over 30,000 deaths every month, or a staggering 1,000 deaths every single day.

Sadly, the highest drowning mortality rates are among children under the age of five. As a former Olympian and South African swimming champion, this cause is deeply personal to Princess Charlene.

Through her foundation, she strives to increase awareness of water safety and the risks of drowning, while also providing swimming lessons to children. Numerous programs are currently active and can be viewed on the foundation's website.

Funds collected are delivered to the beneficiary charity
