Riviera Water Bike Challenge

Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation

20 professional athletes and 30 amateur riders come together in 10 teams to travel 21km from the beach of Nice to the port of Monaco on Schiller S1 water bikes. More information to follow on spectator opportunities upon arrival at the Yacht Club de Monaco.

All funds raised go towards the Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco which is aiming to build an Aquatic Rescue Centre in Burkina Faso, the first of its kind in West Africa. This new centre is being designed and delivered with the Monaco Red Cross and the Burkina Faso Red Cross and aims to save lives through establishing a 'Learn to Swim' and 'Water Safety' programme to prevent death by drowning.

The teams, which were selected at random on 15 May are as follows:

• Monte Carlo Polo Team + Nic Lamb (Surfing) + Pierre Frolla (Freediving)
• Slammers + David Coulthard (F1) + Muriel Hurtis (Athletics)
• The Wine Palace + Kevin Crovetto (Gymnastics) + Paula Radcliffe (Marathon Running)
• Fondation François-Xavier Mora + Percy Montgomery (Rugby) + Ryk Neethling (Swimming)
• Monaco Police + Dan Luger (Rugby) + Lizzie Armistead (Cycling)
• Serenity + Valérie Nicholas (Handball) + Simon Shaw (Rugby)
• Stelios Philanthropic Foundation + Jean-Baptiste Botti (Jetskiing) + Tiffany Cromwell (Cycling)
• Victor + Valère German (Football) + Jamie Mitchell (Paddleboarding)
